1. "I Thought They Smelled Bad On The Outside"
Of the many things that "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" has taught us, we have learned that curling up inside a dead tauntaun is enough to keep us alive through a blizzard.
I'm pretty sure more people would buy a lifesize tauntaun and it would give fewer people nightmares. Imagine the look on a child's face the first time they see their mum or dad laying inside a bear's belly.
2. "Roach Hotel"
Cake designing has become more about the design than the cake itself these days. "Cake bosses" everywhere have been doing everything they could to have the most unique cakes that anyone will find.
A cake is supposed to be a deliciously wonderful creation. Looking at this cake is enough to lose one's appetite, so unless the purpose of this roach-filled cake is to be the anti-cake, this is one of the half-baked ideas that would have been better if kept out of the oven.
3. "Need A Haircut?"
Picking the colors to paint one's house can be a long and tedious process, but in the end, it's worth it not to cut any corners.
This was probably the result of one partner picking the colors out of spite of having to decide on the pattern themselves. It's not too bad if one or both partners are die-hard fans of Tim Burton's films.
4. "Cheeeeese!!!!"
Hair can be very difficult to manage in the summer heat. The humidity causes it to frizz up and become untidy almost immediately upon leaving home. If only there were some easy way to help keep the knots out...
...Standing at only 2 inches tall these travel-sized fine-toothed combs are perfect for anyone who's tired of knotty hair clumping up at all the worst times.
5. "Ted Mosby, Architect"
Architecture is a funny thing. One day a building's design can be considered a work of art or a masterpiece for the ages. But upon stepping back and gaining a bit of perspective, things sometimes change.
A basket-shaped building was a great idea when the company that worked in it was manufacturing baskets, however, now that the property has been sold to a pillow and linens company, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
6. "A Dream Of Spring"
With a little bit of ingenuity, a lot of old junk, and enough spare time we could probably McGyver ourselves some pretty interesting things. Instead of throwing away old ski equipment, why not just build a couple of new chairs.
These chairs didn't turn out too poorly. They look fairly sturdy and they have a bit of a "Game of Thrones" feel to them. If winter is coming, it might be time for these guys to buy some new skis though.
7. "Meesa Sorry I Showed Up"
When the Star Wars sequel trilogy came out (episodes 7-9, for those who are not familiar with the films) there were countless theories as to what would transpire in the final installments of the Skywalker Saga. Some people were so sure that they even went as far as getting permanent tattoos of their theories.
When George Lucas introduced Jar Jar Binks to the Star Wars universe, he provided us all with a permanently painful scar that is worse than any that could be created by removing this tattoo. In fairness, this is the best Jar Jar has ever looked.
8. "Gotta Catch 'Em All"
Pokemon was first released in the mid-90s and since then it has taken the world by storm. Since its release, Pokemon has not only caught up to, but has also surpassed Mario as the most profitable gaming franchise of all time.
When something has gained as much popularity as Pokemon has, it is only a matter of time before people start altering themselves in order to look like their favorite characters. Imagine the look of surprise when an unknowing Pokemon GO player attempts to capture this Bulbasaur.
9. "Got Any Quackers"
Sprucing up one's garden and front walkway is something that many people in Anytown U.S.A. take very seriously. There are competitions held annually that cover a wide range of award topics.
I know that scarecrows are used to keep birds away from a farmer's crops, but I can't see any use for these banana ducks unless one's house is under constant attack from bread crumbs and Triscuit crackers.
10. "You Know What Else Has Layers?"
The pandemic of 2020 was the root of many DIY projects. With salons closed for the majority of 2020, many people decided to try their hand at manicuring themselves, after all, there weren't many other options while stuck at home for most of the year.
At first thought, these spring onion nails are enough to bring tears to anyone's eyes, but on closer look, they weren't the tear jerkers that they were expected to be.
11. "Pumpkin Go Boom!"
One of the fun things about Halloween is seeing the creativity of how everyone would carve their jack-o-lanterns. After all, the jack-o-lantern is the symbol of the holiday.
This pumpkin definitely captures the spirit of the holiday, as it probably scared the crap out of a few parents whose children passed by the house. One thing is for sure, it won't be winning any pumpkin carving contests...but it might finish number 2.
12. "Zip It!"
Is that old pet rock not quite doing it for you anymore? Has its loyalty been compromised? Are people somehow finding out about secret conversations that were had between pet and person?...
Is it new? Is it improved? Or is it both new and improved? Either way, the solution to all of one's blabbermouthed pet rock problems has arrived.
13. "Splish Splash"
Due to their foolproof drainage system (having holes everywhere), crocs are an excellent choice for anyone who plans on having their feet even somewhat submerged in water.
Other than poor ankle support and possibly poor traction due to the 3 inches of rubber under one's feet, these platform crocs seem like they'd probably be a better choice than fish sandals would be for someone who's planning a camping trip disco or attending a large outdoor music festival.
14. "Tongue In Cheek"
There will always be individuals who simply must have the most unique vehicle on the road...no matter how ridiculous it might look.
It is definitely not the most practical vehicle with which to be parallel parking, however, the creator of this shoe car sure put his soul into designing this eyesore.
15. "Taking Aim"
Whether accurate or not, Americans have unfortunately gained a reputation around the world for their love of guns and their inherent displeasure for those who attempt to infringe upon their Second Amendment rights.
The poor passivist postman who was assigned to this route had to be at least a little bit concerned the first day they saw this mailbox. I bet these people never had an issue with getting any of their neighbor's mail.
16. "I'll Get A McMoose Sandwich, Eh. With An Igloo Sundae, Please"
As part of an art exhibit 21 years ago in Toronto, Ontario, 326 life-sized moose were placed around the city. Since then, these moose have been used as promotional tools for businesses citywide.
If the hope was to get children to eat healthier by being terrified to go to McDonald's, they hit the nail on the head with this one. In case anyone is wondering, yes, this is one of the evil Moose that pulls Bizarro Santa's sleigh.
17. "Hey You Guuuuys"
Drinking a cup of coffee in the morning should be a relaxing experience for someone. What it should not be, is an experience that could cause someone to lose sleep at night due to nightmares of their coffee mug trying to eat them.
This mug kind of looks like Sloth from "The Goonies", so I guess it didn't turn out too bad. The moment the mug would start talking, however, it would be going out the window, and I would be switching to decaf.
18. "It's Me..."
Similar to the moose in Canada, a few years ago koala statues were placed around Australia. Koalas are a symbol of dreams, intuition, and magic and are meant to remind us to approach life with childlike wonder.
This Mario-Koala missed the mark a little. Next time I would just stick to a regular koala, at least they're cute. I can't decide what's more terrifying between this and a drop bear.
19. "When Will Then Be Now?"
In Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs" one of the characters (played by Brooks) explains that real money does not come from the initial product, but from merchandising. In the lead-up to the 2020 Presidential Election, people all over the world were trying to capitalize on "the most important election in modern history".
They probably should have waited until after all the re-counts before putting this towel on display. It's hard to commemorate something that never happened.
20. "Stairway To Heaven"
Musicians spend countless hours tuning, practicing, and playing their most trusted instrument, no matter what it is they play. It's only natural that an avid guitar player would feel the desire to modify their favorite "ax" in order to make it more comfortable while playing.
I really don't know why everyone thinks that all Americans are obsessed with guns. One can only hope that this musician doesn't accidentally grab the wrong instrument when going on stage...
21. "Don't Get Too Excited"
Some gifts are given out of love, some out of spite, and some, well, it's tough to tell why some people give the gifts that they give...
These look like something that Ramsay Bolton would have had in his personal trophy collection.
22. "Eucalyptus Anyone?"
"Fighting sleep by moonlight
Dropping from trees by daylight
Never running from a real fight!
She's the one named Koala Moon"
Dropping from trees by daylight
Never running from a real fight!
She's the one named Koala Moon"
Turning adorable animal statues into popular culture icons appears to be an itch that people just can't seem to scratch, but this Sailor Moon Koala comes really close to hitting the spot.
23. "Thick-Skinned"
Maintaining a unique and creative fashion trend doesn't have to be an expensive and exhausting hobby, but it would be nice if it steered clear of borderline psychotic.
It doesn't even look like those legs belong to the crocodile. If the goal was for the bag to look like the man has a goblin child hiding under a croc mask...they nailed it!
24. "Rock Lobster"
Junk artists all over the world are always on the lookout for the next "perfect" piece of junk that will become their masterpiece.
This "piece of art" looks like it was the love child of Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid" and the killer car from "Christine". The saying is "art is open to interpretation" and I have interpreted this as bad art.
25. "Holiday Baggage"
When deciding on which handbag to take along to a soiree, a respectable lady of high society must ensure that it coordinates appropriately with every part of their evening's ensemble.
The Thanksgiving Day Gala is one of the top 5 galas of the year and should be attended by anyone who belongs to the upper echelon of society. There is no better place to show off one's newest Thanksgiving accessories.
26. "The One Photo To Rule Them All"
Family portraits are a great way to create lasting memories. As much of a challenge as it may be to get everyone to hold still long enough in order to capture the perfect moment, years down the line it will be worth it.
This photo is simply amazing. At the time everyone must have thought that these parents were crazy, however, once this kid is old enough to appreciate the movies, they are going to be very grateful that this photo exists. I do hope for the mother's sake that they have some normal photos as well.
27. "Special Sauce Not Included"
One of the many promotions that hotels have experimented with over the years, in order to attract a specific type of clientele, is fantasy-themed rooms. If a couple is looking to spice up their love life with a little bit of fantasy, chances are, somewhere in America there is a room that will accommodate their needs.
Fast food lovers are everywhere across America and what better way is there to "Supersize" their hotel experience than letting them be the meat in a giant burger.
28. "The Thinker"
There are more attempts and therefore more failed attempts to renovate one's washroom than any other room at home. Some washroom renovation failures can be absolutely tragic, but on rare occasions, an otherwise horrible plan can actually come together rather nicely.
This is definitely not the greatest renovation that has taken place, however, how it is not very often in life that one actually get a chance to sit on a throne.
29. "Bright Eyedia"
Thanks to the creativity of some of the brightest up and coming talent the world has to offer, over the past few decades make-up artistry has been able to reach amazing new heights.
The idea behind this is pretty cool, but some things are better left undone. Where would one even look when speaking to this person? For Halloween, it would be great, but for any other day of the year...just no.
30. "That's A Lot Of Gigawatts"
When modifying one's car these days, a car has not truly been "pimped" unless it is flashy, loud, and pretty much looks like it should be a part of the Fast And The Furious franchise...
If "Back To The Future" was filmed today, maybe this could have been Doc Brown's time machine? It kind of looks like what the car version of cotton candy would look like.
31. "The Peach Pit"
We won't be bumping into Brendan, Brenda, Dillon, or Donna at this Peach Pit, but it is probably sweet and has more money than at least a few of them these days.
This ATM stands out like a...well, a giant peach. It's a great way to help tourists find the closest cash point, but a giant flashing sign probably would have been a bit more practical. There must be better things to spend tax payer's money on.
32. "Fish Out Of Water"
Focus groups are quite important in helping to decide if a product has a chance on the consumer market. For this one, the line was baited and cast out to sea in order to see if any customers would come nibbling.
Rubber fish sandals are a really weird look for someone to sport, however, they would be a great gift for a fishing fanatic, and they are quite practical for someone who spends a lot of time with their feet in the water. The pine tree socks just complete the ensemble perfectly.
33. "Make Like A Banana, And Split"
Upon commencing the search for a new centrepiece for one's table, look no further than a bowl made out of what it is intended to hold.
There is something aesthetically unpleasing about the way this thing looks. A fruit bowl made out of fruit ornaments is a fantastic way to ensure that the owner of this bowl does not accidentally forget what the intended purpose is of said bowl.
34. "Sand's Of Time"
Going to the beach is a wonderful way to spend one's afternoon. The only problem is, when getting home from the beach there is usually sand everywhere.
These spoons add a little bit of mystery to one's evening after returning from the beach. Is the sand in the spoon or on the spoon? Only one way to find out.
35. "It's Like Talking To A Barn Door"
Children don't usually realize it at the time, but growing up on a farm is a rewarding experience that teaches every little farmer lessons that they will bring with them for the rest of their lives. Moving to the city can be a traumatizing experience for anyone who has spent the first part of their lives plowing the fields and taking care of barn animals, but that's nothing that a few kitchen renovations won't fix.
With just a few minor adjustments, anyone's kitchen cupboards can be transformed into tiny little barn doors to help stave off the PTSD of big city life.
36. "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Baaaaad!"
Summertime means bbq time, and bbq time means it's time to get new patio furniture. Deciding on which products to sell at one's patio furniture store could be a rather difficult task sometimes, but someone who has been in the industry for a while always knows what their customers want.
Looking at the other benches in this shop, it's fairly obvious that even the shopkeeper knew that it would be a bad idea to order more than one of these benches. That seat does look pretty small, better not hog all the space.
37. "There Is Another"
Star Wars is undoubtedly one of the most profitable franchises ever. There have been movies, tv shows, comic books, and an endless amount of toys (sorry, action figures) that have been made in the images of everyone's favorite Jedi and Sith. Some have received great public reception and others...not so much.
For decades, Star Wars fanatics would have given anything to have Luke Skywalker hand them a lightsaber, but now that it's happening, he's really just in the way. Han Solo in carbonite would probably have been a better idea. At least he would have been flat against the controller without getting in a gamer's way.
38. "It Was A 'Lawn' Gunman"
Home security is right at the top of the list as far as priorities for any young family. There is nothing more important than the safety of one's family, and what better way to protect one's home than with a replica of a century-old piece of artillery?
This is what happens when a Civil War enthusiast attempts to recreate their favorite battle but they run out of money after the first ridiculously over-priced purchase.
39. "Gonna Be Sick"
Considering the permanence of a tattoo, one would think that people would put a bit more thought into what they are having inked onto themselves for the REST OF THEIR LIVES.
Just looking at this tattoo sums it up fairly well. Some people should not be allowed to make their own decisions. The imagery is vivid, that is for sure. The art is great, yup. But, this person now has the word "puke" written above their puking belly button for the rest of their lives.
40. "Yee-Haw"
There are some people out there who don't believe in throwing anything away until every possible use of the item has been explored. When searching for creative new ways to make plant holders, look no further than....old cowboy boots and pants?
This wouldn't look as awkward if the plants were removed and the pants and boots were put in a closet somewhere. This rhinestone cowboy should think about retiring the old outfit permanently.
